Mobile app for Alfa Insurance

Background

Alfa – by their predecessor in title – is one of oldest actors in the insurance scene in Hungary. In 2023 the company became part of the Vienna Insurance Group, an industry leader in the CEE region with their group headquarter in Vienna and an active presence in 30 countries.

Challenges

The company renewed their online presence after the acquisition and part of the process their plan was to publish a new mobile app.
Alfa parted ways with their previous development company and Evista had to jump in the process of publishing the new app to add new functionalities and fix existing issues.

Cooperation

The goal of the first development phase of the project is to publish an application developed in Ionic framework that uses the backend and mobile optimised frontend of the company’s client website.
Our mobile developer became a remote member of the Alfa in-house developer team to provide them with his expertise. He participated on the daily stand-ups, took part of planning and cooperated with the backend team.
The first main task to cover was a fix on the integration of Simple – Hungary’s leading mobile payment service. It was followed by a series of minor fixes to complete the app’s functionality leading to publication.

The next phase of the project is to develop a new ionic mobile application with a separated frontend while keeping the connection with the existing backend of the client portal to better serve client communication.
