OTD system

Background

Risjward is a leading provider of construction materials in 6 countries of North-West Europe, specializing in decorative bricks and mortar. They have developed a visualizing tool to help the contructors in planning. You can choose the color and material of the bricks and mortar to cover your building and you get an auto-generate visual plan with exact calculation of material quantities to request an appropriate quote.

Challenges

As Risjward parted way with their old development company first we had to analyze the codebase without documentation. We had to maintain the operability of the application while reorganizing it to get a clear code.
We were also asked for a complete UI redesign. After a deep analysis we refined the UX but kept the main user flows then defined the new colors, fonts and styles and introduced the new design gradually.

Our solution

On back-end we transformed the old php code from CodeIgniter to YII2 framework to create a well-organized and easily maintainable project we can enrich with the new functionalities. One of our first major task was to develop a complete administration interface where administrators can not only add and remove the materials they sell to clients but also allows the company to maintain the application in 7 languages. On the front-end we used angular.js technology when adding a complete new look to the project.
