Background

CAE is a global leader in training for the civil aviation, defense and security, and healthcare markets. The Canada based company’s Healthcare department creating educational tools to help healthcare professionals provide safe, high quality patient care. Their end-to-end spectrum of simulation solutions includes patient, interventional and imaging simulation, audiovisual solutions and learning applications. CAE Healthcare offer their training to hospitals, medical schools, emergency response teams etc.

Challenges

The Hungarian subsidiary of CAE Healthcare hired Evista to develop a mobile application to complete their healthcare simulation ecosystem with an exam tool.

Long distances and time-lag were just complementary challenges to overcome – we had to adapt to a new company development and testing structure and their iterations in development to keep our process compact. This time we have worked with a design and back-end created by our client’s in-house team and have to connect to the Azure system commonly used in CAE. This latter required conformity to severe technology protocols for all our releases.

Solution

The end product, the CAE SPA application provides an interface that uses mainly the design elements of a native IOS application, all styles, texts, buttons reminds to IOS. We have implemented our development with the Ionic framework that provides us with the required components. The Angular based app. offers you to participate in a healthcare education process as a patient. You can register and provide your medical records and history then administrators in CAE Healthcare can invite you to participate in an examination. You decide whether to accept or decline these invitations. When accepting the app guides you through the whole process with appointments, helping you with calendar integration and a built-in notification system.
